ACW was proud to participate in UCA’s 2025 Wellness Fair & Family Day to help promote community safety and personal health. We believe that a healthy community is a safe community—and it starts with each of us taking care of our well-being. ACW remains committed to protecting the people we serve and welcomes new volunteers to join us in our mission.

UCA and ACW hosted a Safety Tracker Giveaway to help protect loved ones and valuables. As NYPD Deputy Chief and police force members led a community safety training, our volunteers assisted seniors with setting up these devices.

In the summer, as the weather warms up childrens laughter and play fill out community parks. ACW visits parks to ensure these spaces stay safe. Volunteers listen to feedback from parents on how to make these spaces safer for their children

The United Chinese Association of Brooklyn (UCA) hosted a Parents’ Day event, welcoming the District Attorney, NYC Council representatives, health insurance partners, and community members. ACW recruited more volunteers to build a stronger, safer, and more connected Brooklyn.

The city quietly changed 2134 Coyle Street from an approved affordable housing project into a homeless shelter—without public input.

Vernikov, alongside Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse, Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblyman Kalman Yeger, and Community Board 15, sent a formal letter to Mayor Adams, demanding the contract be canceled.

This is more than just one building. It’s about protecting public trust and defending our community’s voice. 

ACW assisted a City Marshal in evicting a family of illegal tenants with rent arrears and returning the apartment to the rightful owner pursuant to a Court Eviction Warrant. This will serve as an example of community service, justice, and support for our neighbors in need. We can help navigate the legal process in cases such as illegal tenant problems.

ACW attended the 61st Precinct Community Meeting, engaging with local leaders and law enforcement to discuss safety initiatives. Working together for a safer community!

ACW volunteers are still on patrol at Ave U, ensuring community safety despite the freezing weather. With reports of shoplifting, we visited local businesses to assist merchants, provide safety tips, and support crime prevention efforts. No matter the conditions, we stand strong in protecting our neighborhood!
