Congratulations to Councilwoman Inna Vernikov on a well-deserved win in the primary election!!!
Volunteers showed incredible dedication on June 24th—braving 105° heat to hand out flyers, campaign, vote, and assist throughout the election process.
Councilwoman will continue to contribute to the good of our community.

UCA and ACW hosted a Safety Tracker Giveaway to help protect loved ones and valuables. and ACW assisted seniors with setup. NYPD Deputy Chief and Police force members led a community safety training, ACW continues to recruit volunteers to build a stronger, safer, and more connected Brooklyn.

The United Chinese Association of Brooklyn hosted a Parents Day event, welcoming the District Attorney, NYC Council representatives, health insurance partners, and community members. ACW, formed by Inna Vernikov, attended to recruit volunteers to join us in building a stronger, safer, and more connected Brooklyn.

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov:
“Sheepshead Bay says NO to backroom shelter deals.”
The city quietly changed 2134 Coyle Street from an approved affordable housing project into a homeless shelter—without public input.
Vernikov, alongside Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse, Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblyman Kalman Yeger, and Community Board 15, sent a formal letter to Mayor Adams, demanding the contract be canceled.
This is more than just one building.
It’s about protecting public trust and defending our community’s voice.

ACW was present assisting a City Marshal in evicting a family of illegal tenants with rent arrears and returning an apartment to the rightful owner pursuant to a Court Eviction Warrant. This will serve as an example of community service, justice, and support for our neighbors in need. We can help in navigating the legal process in cases of illegal tenants problems.

ACW attended the 61st Precinct Community Meeting, engaging with local leaders and law enforcement to discuss safety initiatives. Working together for a safer community!

It’s only 20°F today, but ACW volunteers are still on patrol at Ave U, ensuring community safety despite the freezing weather. With reports of shoplifting, we visited local businesses to assist merchants, provide safety tips, and support crime prevention efforts. No matter the conditions, we stand strong in protecting our neighborhood!

The ”Classic Hits Celebrate Christmas“ event, organized by KXNY International Inc, and co-hosted by the United Chinese Association of Brooklyn, was grandly held on December 7 at the Fortune Palace in Brooklyn. The award ceremony was a great success and received unanimous praise from community leaders and social circles.
During the concert, KXNY International Inc gave special recognition to the members of the Asian Community Watch (ACW) patrol team, founded by District 48 Councilwoman(Inna Vernikov). These people have significantly contributed to community safety through tireless and consistent patrols, regardless of adverse weather conditions.
The event invited notable figures to present certificates of recognition to the ACW members, including retired Deputy Chief Fang Ziyuan, Inspector Sylvester Ge, Executive Officer of the NYPD Transportation Bureau; Curtis Sliwa, founder of Guardian Angels; John Tsang, Guardian Angels Commander; Steve Chan, New York State Senator; Captain Hui of the 72nd Precinct; and Ansen Tang, President of the Chinese American United Association. The community belongs to everyone, and our shared responsibility is to protect it together.
