What We Do
We are committed to protecting the safety and resilience of our communities.
In pursuit of this mission, our volunteers dedicate their time to serving South Brooklyn through weekly patrols, safety workshops, and community engagement. Every program is designed to strengthen trust, respond to local concerns, and empower residents to play an active role in keeping their neighborhood safe.
A Watchful Presence You Can Count On
Weekly Patrols

Our weekly patrols are the backbone of ACW and are carried out with a singular focus: the well-being of our community members. Every week, trained volunteers walk throughout South Brooklyn’s neighborhoods, providing a visible presence that helps deter crime while offering reassurance to residents and local businesses.
During each patrol, ACW remains attentive to suspicious activity, neighborhood hazards, and quality-of-life concerns. We engage with residents, check in with businesses, answer questions, and encourage community members to share concerns that may otherwise go unheard.

When appropriate, we coordinate with local law enforcement and community leaders to ensure issues are addressed through the proper channels.

More than simply monitoring the neighborhood, our patrols build relationships. By showing up consistently and getting to know the people we serve, we help create a stronger sense of trust, belonging, and shred responsibility throughout the community.
Knowledge Is Power
Safety Workshops
We believe one of the many ways to prevent crime is through education. Our safety workshops provide residents with practical information that helps them recognize risks, stay informed, and respond confidently to everyday situations.

Workshops cover topics such as personal safety, scam and fraud prevention, emergency preparedness, bystander awareness, and neigborhood safety resources. Sessions are accessible for residents of all ages and encourage open conversations about the challenges our community faces.
A Strong Neighborhood Is Built On Collaboration
Community Events

Whether attending neighborhood festivals, volunteer initiaitve, cultural celebrations, or public safety events, our gal is always the same: to strengthen relationships and create a commuity where people feel connected, supported, and invested in one another’s well-being.
Throughout the year, ACW hosts and participates in community events that bring together residents volunteers, local businesses, elected officials, and community organizations. These events create opportunities to celebrate our community and encourage greater civic participation.

Why Our Work Matters
Every patrol we walk, every conversation we have, and every event we organize helps build a stronger network of neighbors who care for one another. Together, these efforts create a community that is not only safer but more united.
Whether you volunteer your time, attend an event, or support our mission, your involvement helps create lasting change across South Brooklyn.
