On a beautiful summer day, community members, local leaders, and officers from the 61st Precinct gathered to celebrate an important investment in neighborhood safety as Councilwoman Inna Vernikov donated a new police vehicle to the precinct. The event highlighted the strong partnership between elected officials, law enforcement, and the residents they serve—demonstrating how collaboration continues to strengthen the community.
Councilwoman Vernikov has built a close working relationship with the officers of the 61st Precinct, recognizing the vital role they play in protecting the neighborhoods they serve every day. The donation of this new police vehicle is another example of that commitment. An additional patrol vehicle enhances the precinct’s ability to respond to emergencies, increases visibility throughout the neighborhood, and provides officers with another valuable resource as they patrol local streets.
The Asian Community Watch (ACW), an initiative supported by Councilwoman Vernikov’s office. ACW volunteers work closely with the officers of the 61st Precinct through community patrols, outreach events, and public safety initiatives. Together, they serve as extra eyes and ears in the neighborhood, helping to promote awareness, report concerns, and foster stronger relationships between residents and law enforcement.
